Jean's swap

I received Jean's swap cards today in the mail. This swap was hosted by Jean and the two stipulations were that paper piercing and Dazzling Diamonds had to be used on each card and all other products be in the current Stampin' Up catalogue.
I've taken a photo of them but can't put it up yet, 'cause Kylie in South Australia won't have hers yet.

Swap cards

In April/May, Karen (our Stampin' Up team leader) organised a card swap. Conditions were that the products be out of the new Stampin' Up catalogue which started on the 1st April. We all did a different set, with different layouts and ideas.
Here's the result.

Top row left to right: Leigh using Priceless, Judy using Happiness, Kylie using Baroque Motifs.
Second row left to right: Grace using Heartfelt Thanks, Deb using Wild Rose, Jean using Fun and Fast Notes.
Bottom row: Karen using Big Bold Birthday and Sanded background.
I displayed these cards at Robyn's workshop on Thursday and due to Kylie's wonderful card, I received two orders. Wonderful hey? Great work Kylie. Thanks.

Pics of my craft room make over

My new drawer units with 2 of my old plastic drawer units on top. Also in picture is my new Mothership. Jean, Karen and I all have these new toys. They are rolling workshop totes nicknamed Motherships. Isn't it cool? It has already had it's inaugural trip when I did Robyn's workshop last Thursday.
My clean and tidy table. It used to be my Nana's dining table and goes back to the 1930's. After the fire, it was restored and is now my craft table. I love it. The top is pine and bottom with the turned legs is silky oak. It's nearly 2 metres long and is just perfect for me.
Picture taken from doorway of my craft room with Larry in the background sitting in front of the mirror on the built in cupboards.
Bookcases behind my computer chair with tablecloth curtains for light and dust protection.
Bookcases with curtains up. Yep, I know, there's quite a few prima flowers etc on the bottom shelf. lol
Thanks for looking.

It's Done!!!!

My craft room make over. I've found homes for all my new stash. Condensed 5 sets of plastic drawer sets (5 drawers in each) into two double mini units from Best Craft Oranizer. Picture here. They aren't cheap but definitely worth the money. I have space on my table to work now and the amount you can put in these units is unbelievable. Don't for a moment think that my units are full 'cause they aren't. Room for expansion (OMG!!!) in the stamp and ink pad line. Perish the thought. I purchased my units through a friend of mine, Michelle. My room looks so much more open and I can see the floor! lol
Hope to be back tomorrow with some card creations.

Workshop purse card and box

A friend of mine held a very successful workshop today with 13 people. The girls made a purse card which was a direct take from Jean's who adapted hers from another site she saw. All the kits were done with different DSP from the Stampin' Up range, brads and ribbons to match. To make the flowers, a scallop punch was used then every second petal was cut then embossed all over, then on the other side a line scored into the uncut petals, a push with the embossing tool in the centre, and voila, a flower. Two flowers from the Spring Bouquet punch were treated in the same manner with a brad through all three.
I think the flowers were a big hit with the ladies 'cause a couple of the punches were sold. lol
Thanks to the person that put how to do these flowers on Splitcoast Stampers.

The little hanging box is really simple and it's thanks to Karen for giving me her box template. For my hostess today, a reinker was placed inside a box and given as a thank you. Robyn loved it and wanted another one to put in hers that she made today, to even things up she said. rofl

The last thing we did was to play a Christmas Left and Right game. Everyone chooses very wisely a little gift and then a story was read. Everytime they heard 'left' or 'right', the gift had to be passed onto the next person in the appropriate direction. So the little gift they had 'chosen wisely' didn't stay with them long. Heaps of fun and lots of laughs, 'specially from me. rofl
I'm pretty sure everyone who was there enjoyed themselves immensely.

Baby Boy

Well this is my first card for some time. A friend of mine wanted a baby boy card, so thanks to Jean, I used her card as a guide and made this one. My friend absolutely loved it which is great.
Colours are Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.
The Polka dot background was used. The giraffe is by Hero Arts. The bird and the saying are from Stampin' Up.
Thanks for looking.

At last!!!

Time has certainly gone by since my last post. I and four other girl friends went to the Scrapbook and Papercraft Convention in Brisbane on the Queen's birthday long weekend, 7th, 8th, 9th June. We all had the best time. Great fun. My stash from that weekend is huuuuuuge. Here's the pics of it all, the 'aerial view'. rofl Karen took this when I had a stash showing at her place last Wednesday. What a wonderful day we had. Thanks Karen.

My other news is that I now have a new car. A Nissan Xtrail, colour Electric Blue. Number plate is LBB, so my OH has come up with 'Leigh's Brrooom Brrooom'. So now it's name is 'Brrooom' rofl. Karen came up with 'Leigh's Blue Baby' which is good too. All of you who know me personally, will I think, reckon that 'Brrooom' is just right for my car.
OK, I'm off, have to work at the Tourist centre this afternoon and at the Post Office in the morning. So hopefully I can get some cards made and my preping done for a workshop after that. Bye.
