Sympathy In Midnight Muse

Unfortunately in the last week I have needed to make a couple of sympathy cards, this is one of them.
The sketch is very basic and everyone uses it but I felt it suited this card.  There isn't any ribbon on it a) because I didn't have any and b) because I felt for a male sympathy it wasn't needed.
The colours are Midnight Muse and Whisper White.  I fussy cut the Apothecary Art stamp so the space between the Midnight Muse Label framelit and the stamped image wasn't huge.  I think it looks nicer that way.

I've been away at a craft retreat in Brisbane.  It was the best camp.  We had a ball. I'm sorry, I don't have any pictures, no time...between eating, crafting and sleeping, the weekend just flew.

Thanks for visiting my blog and enjoy your day.

Bananas In Pyjamas

 All together now....let's sing...

Bananas in pyjamas are coming down the stairs,
Bananas in pyjamas are coming down in pairs,
Bananas in pyjamas are chasing teddy bears,
'cos on Tuesdays they all try to catch them unawares!

Sorry, I couldn't resist that.
As you may have guessed, I was asked to make two Bananas in Pyjamas cards for three year old twin boys!!!
Well!!
What was I to do....I had no idea.  So I googled and came up with some images.  At first I thought I could colour B1 and B2 coming down a set of stairs.   Mmmmm well I abandoned that idea pretty quickly.  Then I had another idea while doing the preparation for this card by Connie Collins.
So instead of the rainbow zig zag, I alternated Summer Sun (retired), Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point zig zag trim on to white card stock.  I then layered that onto Summer Sun, then Pacific Point and the base is Whisper White.
The Summer Sun I found went perfectly with the two Banana images I printed out from the computer.
The 'three' on the sentiment has been paper pieced.  I tried colouring the three in with a Pacific Point marker and that effort went in the bin.  It looked dreadful.
I cut the four Bananas out and placed them either side of the sentiment, of course, remembering to have one B1 and one B2 on each card.
So there you are.....two Bananas in Pyjamas cards for three year old twin boys.  Done.
I have to say that the lady who ordered them is absolutely stoked with the results.  She was just so pleased....so my efforts haven't been in vain. lol
Hope you like them too.

I'm busy preparing cards to go away to craft camp with next weekend.  Very excited...I always love craft camps.  lol
Enjoy your day everyone.

Crazy Patchwork Block

Yes, I know this isn't a paper craft project but I thought I would show this block to you all anyway.
The craft group I go to at Ilbilbie is doing a friendship quilt for one of our group who has now left.  Each of us had to do a crazy patchwork block.  This is mine.   I have since embroidered my name on the green stripe piece on the left hand side.  I've used an assortment of fabrics but I especially found that the two packs of Stampin' Up fabric that I had was perfect for this project.  Some of the fabrics had white backgrounds and I did want all cream, so I tea dyed the ones I needed and some of the lace.
When I put the charms on and a couple of buttons, I'll put up another photo of the finished block.
OK, that's it from me. lol
I'll be back sometime with some more cards.
Thanks for visiting.
