Ladies Diary.

I follow a blog called In My Little Korner and this lady makes absolutely stunning cards.  I love them.  So after seeing this post by Kathy, I cased it and made the four cards you see below, using dies, lace, seam binding, cheesecloth and doilies.
I didn't change a lot because I loved Kathy's version so much but had to improvise due to the different card sizes...eg metric and imperial.

Happy Birthday Mate Ute.

Good morning everyone.
Here is one the cards that I made for the Artist of the Month display at the Sarina Tourist, Art and Craft Centre.   This particular card is based on a project that Anna-Karin made for her son.  I had a different jalopy done but mucked it up so had to improvise and use another jalopy that I was going to bin.  The day I was working on these jalopies (I made 6 cards in total), was also the day that I managed to stab myself with a pair of scissors.  My finger bled so much, I didn't think it was going to stop. lol  Too much hurry and not enough care.  That was two weeks ago and it's only getting better now.  Anyway onto my jalopy.

I've used Distress Crackle Paint, Ranger Verdigris embossing powder, Opals utee, Adirondack dabbers and inks on my ute.  The background paper was made by myself by putting together different pictures of Queensland number plates, resizing them, adding a brown background and then printing out on Kraft card stock.  Lots of Tim Holtz stamps and products were used on this card as well as Stampin' Up card stock.
I've decided that I really love working on Grunge Board and Grunge Paper, it takes ink etc beautifully.
The rusty metal bottle top and nails were a good touch I thought and with the Happy Birthday mate, made this a really Aussie bloke card.

Artist Of The Month Display

These photos are of the Artist Of The Month display at the Sarina Tourist, Art and Craft Centre.  Each month, a display of work by artist/artists is featured at the main focal point in the centre.  This month, Jean and I are the artists displayed.  The photos are pretty self explanatory and I have separate pictures of each item that I made for this display which I'll put on here over the coming days.
Changeover day was Wednesday 31st October and that day Jean sold 15 items and I sold 14. Over the next few days, items walked out the door.  So it's gratifying that our work is liked well enough to sell so quickly.
We are in the process now of making more items to refresh the display so there is always something new to look at over the whole of November.
