Male Mouse Tails

I've had these images coloured for months, so decided to make them into cards. Both are intended for male cards but looking at them now, they are suitable for females as well I suppose.
Once again, sorry I can't give credit for the sketches çause I can't remember which ones they were. These cards have been made for a month or so. Cardstock is Bazzill and Core'dinations, dp from my stash as too are the brads. I think the Happy Birthday greeting is a Stamp It one and the Best Wishes is Hero Arts.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Silly Birds!!!

Here is my card for the House Mouse Monday Challenge 'On The Beach'. The stamp is a Stampa Rosa House Mouse called Silly Birds. Yep, makes me laugh. The sketch I used is SCS261. I'm sorry I don't know where the paper came from, had it for years. The hessian is out of my stash, another thing that I've for a very long time.

I silver embossed the bottom edge of the red c/s with a shell edging stamp to take away the plainess and give a bit of interest. I used sprinkles in the right hand corner and added a starfish charm. Kindyglitz was added to add sparkle and represent wet sand and shells.

Hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment on my cards.

Time to Eat!!

Well today I made a baby card. Last night I chose the House Mouse stamp and the papers and decided on the sketch I would use. Today I coloured the image with Prismacolour pencils. I'm going to have allow more room when stamping my images çause there wasn't enough cardstock to use the oval nestie that I had in mind. So of course that changed the sketch immediately. Anyway, here is the card. I'm totally happy with it. Maybe you are thinking that the picture is very pale and washed out, but the papers I used are like that, Melissa Frances, very pale pastels. The background dp has little white lambs and pale lemon stars and moons scattered on it. I think by adding the touch of purple it lifts the card. The safety pin, buttons and lace are all from my stash.
This card isn't for any particular gender hence the green and yellow bibs.
Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment on my blog.

Oops... Tails of an Artist

Well I've had this image coloured for some time and it was meant to be made into a card for someone's birthday a few weeks ago. It is now a belated birthday card.
Yes, I know there is a bit of white left on the image but I wasn't prepared to put a greeting there çause I felt it would take away from the humour of the image, which is one that gives me quite a laugh. I was even laughing as I was colouring it. lol I used Mojo Monday Week 111 sketch. The pink rose is from my new stash bought in Brisbane and the rest was already in my stash.
Thanks for looking and I'll have more of my Stamping Weekend cards to show next time, unless of course, I manage to make something else.

House Mouse Fish Tales

Here is another House Mouse card I have made. When I first coloured the image I had no idea what papers or sketch I would use with it, so when it came to actually choosing something I was a bit worried. Out came some of the papers I've got in my stash and lo and behold, this paper came to light. Perfect, then I matched cardstock, ribbon and silver pearls, found a sketch from the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge for inspiration and woo hoo, finished. I just had to use my new zig zag embossing punch too. My image is bigger than depicted in the sketch but I think it works ok.
Thanks for looking.

Ready, Set, Go!!

I couldn't resist colouring another House Mouse image today to use for a baby boy card. This is another stamp that amuses me. lol It's those wind up teeth that get me laughing. I made this card for the Crazy 4 Challenges C4C2 sketch for September.

I will admit that it took me a long time to put it together. Getting measurements for the background pieces right was a bit of an effort. Then I couldn't work out how to embellish the card without going to extremes. I wanted to use buttons, bling, photo corners etc but settled for what's there now.
The coloured and boy buttons are from my stash, as are the navy brads and ribbon. I added the bow to soften the card a bit.
DSP is by Kaisercraft. Hope the colouring is ok, I tried to match it to the DSP.

What do you all think - the bright colours can be suitable for a baby boy too can't they?

I'm off to bed now, I think I've caught the bug my son has just had so feeling very fluey.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my cards.
Take care everyone.

Splish, Splash, I was taking a bath!!!

I coloured this House Mouse image last week with the thought of entering the current challenge at the time. Well, I finished colouring him and then couldn't find exactly the sort of dsp I wanted to match the song title I had chosen, which was I'm Gonna Wash That Man (mouse) Right Out Of My Hair from the musical South Pacific. lol

Not sure if I can enter the House Mouse Challenge twice this week but I'll give it a go. I've now thought of another song to match my card, actually finding the Splash ribbon in my ribbon box yesterday when I was rummaging, decided the song. Splish, Splash by Bobby Darin.

I did have trouble finding suitable dsp but finally in the depths of my stash, this paper came to light. It's by Anna Griffin and dated 2004. Just goes to show if you keep something long enough.....The image was a difficult one for me because there is so much empty space in the top left hand corner. Out came one of my Dreamweaver stencils and I embossed the tile effect behind the mouse and on the yellow piece as well. All that space was still bothering me, so I added the small Best Wishes which fitted neatly into one of the 'tiles'. Problem solved.

Kindyglitz was added to the bubbles and water around the soap. The next problem was how to embellish my card, so thinking that the ribbon, image and embossing said it all, I just added silver pearls and a navy blue whale button (keeping with the water theme).
Image coloured with my prismacolour pencils and solvent. Oh and curved rectangle nesties were used on the white and yellow layers. I do feel that the yellow layer is a bit too wide to be a layer if you know what I mean, but that is the next size up in the set.

Oops, sorry for the essay.
Thanks for looking and thanks again for all your wonderful comments.

Anybody Home??

Here is my card for the House Mouse Monday Challenge#52 - A Year in Review. It's so long since I participated in the House Mouse challenges. Actually I've missed them. This image cracks me up!!! (pmsl, pun intended). For this challenge, we choose our favourite challenge over the past year and make a new project. I chose to use Challenge#43 which was a sketch.
I didn't put a greeting on my card mainly because I thought it would make a cute baby boy card but could be used for other occassions.
Paper is Kaisercraft and cardstock is Bazzill. I used my nesties for the circle and scallop circle. The ribbon I found when I was rummaging (yep, rummaging being the operative word) in my ribbon box, quite a good match I thought.
I didn't think matching brads would show up on the stripe paper so I added gold pearls by Joycraft, again something else I've had in my stash and is now seeing the light of day.
Image coloured with prisma coloured pencils and solvent.

What do you think? Cute or what? lol
Thanks for the lovely comments on my cards. I love reading them. So appreciated.

House Mouse Seaside Fun

Well I'm back again with another card for the House Mouse Monday Challenge. As usual, I'm dragging the chain. The challenge this week was to make a male card. The sketch I used is from Sketch Saturday. Actually I love the sketch but I'm not 100% sure that I like the card I've made. Oh well, it's done now.
I stamped my image in Versafine Sepia ink and only coloured the crab as I wanted him to stand out. That's the part of the image that really cracks me up. rofl
Then I stamped some PSX shell stamps in the Versafine Sepia ink and mounted them on to the corner. The paper is Kaisercraft Cocco range and the cardstock is Bazzill Raw Silk range which I've had for years. I used the Sanded background from Stampin' Up and some ribbon from my stash. The scallop edge punch from Stampin' Up was used to make the scallop edge on the dsp.

This week hasn't been the best for our family. We lost our family dog, Pepper, who has lived at the farm ever since she arrived as a stray 10 years ago. My Dad is away and I've got the terrible job of telling Dad when he comes home tomorrow night. She hadn't been at all well so I took her to the vet on Friday but it was a Neurological problem which had been coming on and there wasn't anything anyone could do.
Bringing Pepper home was the longest 40 miles I've ever driven. At least she's at peace and out of pain.

Sorry, I don't usually post anything other than cards so if you've read this, Thank You.
I'm having a bit of a blub now, so I'll go and finish off some other cards I'm making. Bye.

House Mouse Sweet Kiss

Hello from a wet and maybe soon to be windy Koumala. There is a category 4 cyclone out there in the Coral Sea called Hamish. It's currently travelling at 17kms an hour, south-southeast, parallel to the coast. Here's a link to the map. We've already lost power here today for an hour or so, perhaps an indication of what's to come?

Anyway, I managed to make a card for the House Mouse Monday Challenge. We had to use chipboard on our project. The papers I used are from the Kaisercraft A La Carte range. I used Eucalypt Opals on my Kaisercraft chipboard flourish and added the lace. The sketch is Mojo Monday's Week 75. The card probably doesn't conform completely to the sketch but I like it.
Yes, I know the photo is crooked, but after taking several and they were all the same for some reason, I gave up.

Thanks for visiting.

Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice

Here I am again!! Yep, another House Mouse card. On Monday, I went on a shopping bus trip to Proserpine which is about two hours north of here. We went to quite a few shops and one of them was Iddy Biddy Cottage where I found some lovely patty cake ribbon. Well I couldn't resist it. Before you ask, yes I did buy other things there. Then on Tuesday, I was in town and I saw the new Kaisercraft Sugar Sugar papers and matching brads. Mmmmm well, the ribbon went exactly with the papers. Bargain!! rofl
The House Mouse Monday challenge this week is a card for Mother. Well my Mum isn't here anymore, but I dedicate this card to her. The image I used always gives me a chuckle and Mum would have liked too. I did a bit of a search today looking for a suitable sketch and found this one, Mojo Monday Week 73. Perfect. I didn't add very many embellishments çause I wanted to showcase the image, with the paper and ribbon.
Thanks for looking and hope you like my card. I do apologise for the photo. I'm pretty sure everything is straight. Must be my bedtime.

House Mouse Eek Eek Eek

While surfing this week, I found a new challenge on Heather's blog with a link to go to a new blog called Truly Scrumptious. The challenge is a sketch and is being sponsored by Alota Rubber stamps. This card is the result. I turned the sketch onto it's side, so I hope that is permissable.

The papers I used are called Waterberry by Kaisercraft are just gorgeous. I love the colours. I also having been very keen to use this House Mouse stamp called Eek, Eek, Eek. Monica is just cute being on the telephone.
I chose the wording as the closest thing I had to something that a mouse would say on the telephone. rofl I was a bit unsure about the flowers I chose at first, but I just love them. The vintage look of them and the colours do go with the papers and cardstock.

Stamps - House Mouse Eek, Eek, Eek by Stampa Rosa and Very Mice Day by Stampabilities
Papers - Bazzill cardstock Aqua, Fire Hearts, Kachina, Chantilly (unavailable now), Kaisercraft Waterberry range of dsp
Inks - Archival black ink, Colourbox fluid chalk ink Aquamarine
Accessories - Nestabilities, Kaisercraft Waterberry brads, Prima Aloha Petals, Hero Arts Art Flowers Pastel Collage, Ribbon from stash, Prismacolour pencils

Thanks for all the comments on my blog. It's wonderful to read them all.
Hope you enjoy this card.

House Mouse Hummingbird Express

Here's my card for the House Mouse Monday Challenge. This week we had to follow a sketch. I really enjoyed making this card. I would also like to say that Lori's card inspired me to use the colours pink and green. Kaisercraft put out the Bloom set of papers with matching brads last year and I really like them. I hope I've coloured the Hummingbird ok, as I've never seen one. lol The image has been stamped on Bazzill Chantilly (now unavailable) and I wasn't really sure how the texture would go with prisma pencils but the solvent blended the colour into the cardstock well. Thanks to Jane for the idea of the oval tag which I cased from my birthday card.

Stamps - House Mouse Hummingbird Express, SU For You (no idea what set, bought 2nd hand)
Ink - Colourbox fluid chalk ink Pink Pastel, Stazon Timber Brown
Cardstock - Bazzill Piglet, Chantilly, Kaisercraft Bloom paper
Accessories - Kaisercraft bling, Bloom brad, SU small oval, 1/4" round & ticket corner punches, Nestabilities circle & scalloped circle, prisma pencils, ribbon and flower brads from stash.
Hope you like my card and thanks for looking.

House Mouse - What is it?

Back again. In fear of losing my title, House Mouse Queen, (chuckle at Jean), I finished a card this afternoon for the House Mouse Monday Challenge. The criteria was tall and thin. Well I've turned my card around, so I hope that still passes.
My aim was to make the card look like a parcel to match the present on the stamped image. So I wrapped the ribbon around the cardstock as if I was wrapping a parcel and tied a bow. The ribbon is double sided, red and green, just gorgeous.

My Martha Stewart branch punch came into play again as well as my SU photo corners punch.
The designer paper and matching brads are from the Kaisercraft Deck the Halls paper range.
I'm really happy with the way it all came together. What do you think?
Stamps - House Mouse What is it?, Hero Arts greeting
Ink - Stazon timber brown, Colourbox fluid chalk olive pastel
Cardstock - Bazzill, Kaisercraft Deck the Halls
Accessories - Kaisercraft flowers, Deck the Halls brads, SU photo corners, large and small tag punches, Martha Stewart branch punch, double sided red, green ribbon, red bling, prisma coloured pencils.

Thanks for stopping by.

House Mouse Mouse Bounce

Yep, another House Mouse card. I gave this card to my friend Heather. She likes patchwork and quilting, crocheting and hardanger. So I figured the Mouse Bounce image was just right.
I used the sketch from Ana Wohlfahrt's cupcake anniversary challenge for Taylored Expressions. The designer papers and matching brads are from the Kaisercraft Sweets range.
Heather loved the card, which is absolutely wonderful.
Stamps - Mouse Bounce by House Mouse, Hero Arts small greeting stamp
Ink - Colourbox fluid chalk ink French Blue, Black archival
Cardstock - Bazzill, Kaisercraft Sweets dsp
Accessories - prismacolour pencils, SU round tab punch, Kaisercraft Sweets brads, prima flowers.
Thanks for looking.

House Mouse Birthday Cupcake

At last, here I am. I have weeks like this last one, when I'm not at home for most of the week. Other commitments.

I've made this card for a Valentine Swap. I started off just wanting to paper piece the outside of the patty case paper. So I did that using the blue heart paper from the set of papers called Lovestruck by Kaisercraft, then colouring the image matching colours to papers. The sketch I used is one I found while blog surfing last weekend, on Ana Wohlfahrt's cupcake anniversary challenge for Taylored Expressions. As usual, I've missed the cut off date but anyway I liked the sketch. I did change the size of one of the layers. I stoked with the way it turned out and also that I could use the brads that match the designer papers.
Stamps - House Mouse Birthday Cupcake, SU So Many Sayings
Cardstock - Kaisercraft Lovestruck, Firehearts, Artesian Pool, Blue by Bazzill
Inks - Stazon timber brown, SU chocolate chip marker
Accessories - Kaisercraft lovestruck brads and white 5cm flowers, prismacolour pencils, SU 1¼ & 1⅜ round punches.

It's raining cats and dogs here. Windy as well. There's a severe weather warning out telling us that there is a monsoon trough and low out there in the ocean that's bringing all this rain. So we'll have webbed feet soon. Lots of roads cut further north and flooding in the north west of Queensland.
Once again, thanks for checking out my blog.

House Mouse Squeaky Clean

This card is my entry for House Mouse Monday Challenge #21. The stipulations for this challenge were that we were to use a House Mouse image (of course) and three colours, night of navy, cameo coral, old olive or as close to as possible.
Off I went searching through my now large collection of House Mouse stamps to find an image that was suitable to use. Found!!! Squeaky Clean. Now I wanted to use Stazon Timber Brown on very vanilla to take away the starkness, (mind you in the photo it looks white) but though I knew I had bought a Timber Brown stazon, I had to find the jolly thing. Half an hour later and with some more stash put away, I had my ink pad.
One thing I learnt while colouring this image was that a little blue goes a looooonnnnngggg way.
For my card I used an adaption of Mojo Monday Week 32 card sketch. Instead of the embellishment where it is on the sketch, I moved my greeting to the lower right hand side so it didn't cover my coloured picture. To give the card a bit of texture I cuttlebug embossed my strip under my House Mouse image and added kindyglitz to the bubbles.
All products by SU except where stated.
Stamps - House Mouse Squeaky Clean, Sanded, Riveting
Cardstock - night of navy, cameo coral, old olive, very vanilla, ginger blossom dp
Inks - night of navy, cameo coral, Stazon Timber Brown
Accessories - Cuttlebug embossing folder Tiny Bubbles, 1⅜, 1¼, scallop round punches, crystalina kindy glitz, prisma coloured pencils, solvent, dimensionals, sponge, night of navy narrow grosgrain ribbon.
Thanks for looking.

House Mouse Sleeping with Strawberries

Hello,
Are you tired of House Mouse cards yet? Sorry, I'm not. lol Then again I intend to make a card today that isn't a House Mouse. I have some of it done, so need to finish it off.

This card isn't for anyone in particular, well not yet anyway, but I love the image. I also managed to find a Stampa Rosa House Mouse accessory cube that has four little images on it to match some of the stamps. So I used the strawberry one, embossed in gold.
The sketch is an adaption of SCS SC202. No doubt there is a sketch somewhere that is closer to my card somewhere but I did use the SC202 as inspiration.
I found that the striped dp from Deck the Halls by Kaisercraft went perfectly with the colours I had used to colour the image. Woo Hoo off I went. I did a little bit of ramdon sponging with creamy caramel ink on the white image background çause it was too stark. Sometimes, I never know whether to stamp on cream or white cardstock. It's only after I've coloured my pic that I decide on papers etc.
Cardstock - SU textured chocolate chip, real red, garden green, creamy caramel, Kaisercraft Deck the Halls dp
Ink - SU creamy caramel, chocolate chip, versamark, Archival black
Stamps - House Mouse Sleeping with Strawberries, House Mouse accessory cube
Accessories - SU chocolate chip wide grosgrain ribbon, gold embossing powder, photo corners, 1 3/8", 1 1/4" square punches, gold brad, Prismacolour pencils and solvent.
What do you think? Will it pass?
Thanks for looking.

House Mouse Ace of Hearts

Here's another House Mouse card that I've made using SCS SC199. This is for Dad's birthday. I've always loved this image. Cracks me up. The look on those two faces is priceless. rofl Again I've used Prisma pencils and solvent. Also the background has been stamped with a Judikins Bolio.
Stamps - House Mouse Ace of Hearts, Just for You - Printblocks Aust, Judikins Bolio Games
Cardstock - real red, wild wasabi, tempting turquoise, more mustard
Ink - wild wasabi, archival black, real red
Accessories - SU tempting turquoise brads and ribbon
What do you think? Hope I've coloured the image decently. I was unsure about this one.
Thanks for looking.

House Mouse Sunflower Smooch

This card is for a challenge over on SCS Blogger Group 7. We had to make a Valentine's Day card but not use Pink, Red or White. I used Very Vanilla to stamp my image on with Versafine Vintage Sepia. Then using SU chalks, I coloured it in, then sealed it with fixative. The sketch I used for inspiration is Mojo Monday Week 21. I'm not sure whether I've technically followed the sketch or not by not adding half circles in the indicated spots, so inspired giving credit is best.
Cardstock - SU Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Ink - SU More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Versafine Vintage Sepia
Stamp - House Mouse Sunflower Smooch, SU Sanded
Accessories - Old Olive brads, Old Olive ribbon, SU round scallop,1 3/8" & 1" round punches,
gold heart from stash, SU chalks
I'm really pleased with the way this card came together.
Thanks for looking.
