Another weekend sketch challenge #103 card

I cut the papers and embossed the centre piece yesterday when I started the other card for this challenge. I kept this card simpler çause I wanted to showcase the ribbon and the brad I made.
Inspiration for this card came from Beate's weekend sketch challenge as well as the card DT member, Laurie made for the challenge. Of course, my bow is not a patch on Laurie's but hey I've got to start somewhere.

I took the opportunity to use some new stash, Papermania's make your own brads. This one is using the small Antique Gold brad. I punched a bell from the dp I used, Graphic 45, put the sticky fix on first, added the punchie, then the clear dome on top. I was pretty impressed with it actually. I purchased this set at Sue and Robyn's shop in Sarina called Papercraft Central.

The ribbon is some more of my Townsville shopping spree, lol, I had a wonderful time in that shop. It's called Scrapbook Shenanigans. Great place for ribbon.

The stamp is from Stamp It and I gold embossed it on smooth cream c/s then layered with brushed gold and red, all cut out with my nesties. Gold pearls in the corner finished it off.

Weekend sketch challenge #103

Here is the card I made for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I'm stoked with this card. For some reason, it didn't come together until I had added my flower arrangement in the corner.
The stamp is by Stamp It and the papers are Graphic 45 bought from Brenda. Gold pearls, flowers and ribbon are from my stash and of course my MS branch punch. Love that punch. lol Oh sorry, the rose is actually one I purchased from here, thanks Debbie P for the link.
Cardstock is a mixture of Coredinations and Bazzill.

Christmas Holly remake!

Here is my remade Christmas Holly card. I think it's come up heaps better this time. I've also covered the Holly in Dimensional Magic. I took away the panel under the ribbon and now looking at it, I reckon that was the problem. I know, it's not stamping, lol. Sorry. I like these sorts of cards too.
I have done a stamped card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge so I'll be back with that later.

Christmas Robins

This is another Christmas card I made using the Robins from the same sheet as the Holly. I'm very happy with it. The papers are from Papermania, ribbon from my stash and so are the flowers. Pearls are Annabelle sprinkles.

I've remade my Holly card. Feeling a lot happier with it now.
Yesterday while I was in town, I paid a visit to the doctor. For many weeks now, I've been battling the itchy eyes, runny nose and all the allergy things. He has put me on antihistamines, thank goodness, but while I was there, he suggested I have the swine flu needle. So I did that and was warned that maybe I might have fluey symptons, like headache etc. So here's hoping that doesn't happen. Haven't got the time for that sort of thing. lol

Christmas Holly

This is a card I have made using Anita's Victoriana die cut 3d range. The papers are from Papermania's Christmas Carol linen paper range. The brushed gold card base is also from Papermania. Fortunately the SU brushed gold c/s is that same cardstock so I was able to layer the nestie label I used with it, which has been popped up on foam squares.

I've been wanting to use some of my new ribbon that I bought in Townsville and this was my chance. I think the wide ribbon is something that grows on you. I absolutely love it now and can't wait to use more of it. Love the big bows the organza ribbon makes. Beate uses big bows on a lot of her work and while I know I'm not in Beate's league, I had to try the look out. The flower embellishment is made up of a Hero Arts flower, then a red Prima one and the cream rose in the middle is one from some more of the stash I bought in Townsville. Brushed gold branches from my MS punch completed my flower. Then to finish off, I used Annabelle pearl sprinkles in the three corners.

I know there isn't any stamping on this card but I have many, many 3d sheets, so I thought I would try to make cards with them using sketches, layers, ribbons, flowers etc to create interest. Thanks for looking and hope you like my card.

Finished!!

The tomatoes are all skinned and cut up ready to go into the freezer as are the beans. I've run out of containers so have to wait for the first lot to freeze before going any further. At least the hard yakka is done though.

The weekend away in Townsville was primarily to attend a Stampscapes class with Jeanette Trappett from The Stamp Trap. After buying some of the unmounted sets in June while I was in Brisbane, I was really keen to do the class. I made enquiries and found that a Townsville class was being offered. Woo Hoo, I was in!! lol It was a fabulous class and I enjoyed it immensely. Sooooo much to take in though. Plenty of practice needed before I can show you any cards.

Off to work at the Tourist Centre this arvo. Yep, it will be hot, windy, dry and dusty. I had someone ask me what the Tourist Centre is......The proper name for it is the Sarina Tourist, Art and Craft centre. It's manned by volunteers and the arts and crafts are handmade by artists and crafters. That's who mainly mans it, the artists and crafters who sell their work there. Also most importantly for the region, it is a Tourist Information centre displaying the blue "I" for information which is recognised as the place for tourists to get up to date information for their holiday locally or if they are travelling further north or south.
Mmmmm bit of an involved explanation..sorry.

Anyway, I'm having withdrawal symptons from not having any time to make cards so here's hoping tomorrow will see a new card on this blog.

Back!!

Learnt heaps at the class I did but sooooo much to take in. I'll stalk the Stampscapes site for a while I think in the hope of consolidating what I learnt. I haven't made any cards since I've been back, which was on Monday arvo. When we called at Bowen on the way home, at one of the roadside stands we bought two boxes of tomatoes, a box of beans, one of onions and heaps of potatoes. The onions and potatoes will keep for a bit, but the beans and tomatoes have to go into the freezer. So that's what I'm doing as well as running my brother around and doing CWA things.
See you when I can get some crafting done. Oh by the way, I did purchase just a 'few' things when I went to one of the local scrapbooking shops. (grin) pmsl

Weekend away

I'm off to Townsville for the weekend. Hoping to find a couple of papercraft shops whilst I'm up there. lol You never know, I may even purchase something!!

House Mouse Fish Tales

Here is another House Mouse card I have made. When I first coloured the image I had no idea what papers or sketch I would use with it, so when it came to actually choosing something I was a bit worried. Out came some of the papers I've got in my stash and lo and behold, this paper came to light. Perfect, then I matched cardstock, ribbon and silver pearls, found a sketch from the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge for inspiration and woo hoo, finished. I just had to use my new zig zag embossing punch too. My image is bigger than depicted in the sketch but I think it works ok.

Pink bow Wedding card

First of all, please excuse the photo. I was a bit shakey this morning after being on the nebuliser. I made this card for a friend of mine. She actually requested grey, white, PURPLE and a touch of black. It was after I made it that I remembered the purple. Thankfully she loves this one and said it was beautiful.
You can't see the flower underneath Together Forever very well but in real life, it's just dark enough to show up. The sketch I used was the very first Sweet and Sassy sketch. I was stoked with how this card turned out.
