Little Girls Like Pink!

Well maybe not all little girls but the one this card is for certainly does and also butterflies.  The sketch is this week's The Sweet Stop Sketch #123.  The reason for the 3d Sarah Kay image is simple....I was challenged by a UK friend of mine to use a 3d or peel off (out of my very neglected/not used anymore stash) with my Stampin' Up stash.  I selected the lesser evil, the 3d image.  I have hundreds of peel offs which I very rarely use...they are just sitting in the cupboard.  The same goes for all the 3d's I have...all just sitting in the cupboard.
Fortunately, Blushing Bride goes beautifully with this pretty little Sarah Kay 3d.  My colour coach indicated that Early Espresso and Pear Pizazz were a good choice with Blushing Bride so I included them both.
Mmmmm that is dsp that I've used but you can't see the little dots very well in photo.  Pity because I chose it specifically to go with the little girl's dress.  The flowers are out of my stash and fits another challenge the same friend issued....to use fabric/paper flowers on a card.  So I've met both challenges.
Thanks Kerrie.  I hope I've passed with flying colours!!! lol
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with another card....stamping etc this time. rofl
I hope all our US friends are safe or trying to keep safe.  Thinking of you all.
Enjoy your afternoon everyone.  I'm off to make some Melting Moments.

A La Card Monkey Challenge 71...All About Autumn

This week I'm one of the guest designers on A La Card Monkey challenge blog.  My challenge was to make a card following this sketch with the theme of Autumn.
Well here is my card!  I used three stamp sets on the image panel....Lovely as a Tree, French Foliage and Autumn Days.  The colours are Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and River Rock.
I hope you like my card and please join the challenge.

I've been missing in action for the last couple of days working so there haven't been any cards made at all.  Hope to get back into it tomorrow (Sunday).
Have a wonderful afternoon everyone.

A La Card Monkey Challenge 69

It was Jean's turn this time to get me to do a challenge.  This is the card I've made for the A La Card Monkey challenge for this week which is a Sympathy or Thinking of You card using the sketch provided.  I really do like this Springtime Vintage dsp and I feel the Strength and Hope set goes very well with it.
Hope you like my card.
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

Mojo Monday Challenge 204

This is my card for the Mojo Monday Challenge this week. I said to Jean that we should try this sketch and once again our cards are completely different. lol  Jean's card is on her blog.  At first this card gave me quite a bit of grief, yes, I know hard to believe when it's so simple but what I wanted to put in the middle just wouldn't work.  So this is what I ended up with.  I feel quite happy about this card now where as before I stamped on the twill and just used the world circle as the centre, it was going in the bin.
My Dad loves fishing and boats so this card is for him on the 4th September, our Father's Day here in Australia.
Hope everyone has had a fabulous day.  Thanks for visiting my blog.

Create With Connie and Mary Challenge 162

Here is my card for the Create with Connie and Mary challenge this week.  I received my Convention Bundle last week and so I used the gorgeous new dsp Beau Château. The stamp set is Elements of Style and the greeting is from Bring on the Cake.  I also used some of the fabric which was included in the bundle.
Thanks for visiting my blog and hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Ray Of Sunshine!!

Woo Hoo, I've been chosen as the Ray of Sunshine for challenge 002/11.  I do get so excited if any of my cards get chosen for a challenge winner....gives one a real boost. lol
Thanks so much to the ladies over at Sunny Challenges and Creations.

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge & 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge.

On Sunday Jean and I challenged each other to make a card using the same sketch, in this case Iwona's Sketchbook Saturday sketch.
I also decided to enter the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge #50 for this week which is to use twine on our creation somewhere.  I was entering these fantastic challenges quite a bit until the last couple of months when my mojo ran out on me. rofl
So this is my card.   It's certainly different from Jean's. lol
I used the Open Sea stamp set with the dsp called Nautical Expedition which are both totally gorgeous.
I have attempted to create the illusion of rigging on a ship with the Baker's Twine on my card. For the greeting I loved the flag effect which I thought fitted the theme of ships, boats and ocean quite well.
Thanks for visiting my blog and make sure you hop on over to Jean's blog to check out her creation.

Sunny Challenges 003/11 Fox and Friends

This week on Sunny Challenges & Creations blog, the challenge is to use Fox and Friends stamp set in conjunction with the sketch that Vicky has made.
Well here is my attempt at this challenge.  I was hoping for a window effect but not sure whether I've succeeded in this or not.  The dsp is Woodland Walk which has been sitting unopened in my stash, so it's made it's debut here. lol  Everything else is self explanatory I think.
These challenges are doing me good because I struggle to use both the criteria the girls at Sunny Challenges require for an entry.  Thanks ladies.
OK, I'm off to make another card that Jean and I set ourselves this morning.  Can't not do it, as I suggested the idea of both of us using the same sketch to see what each of us would come up with. rofl
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

Sunny Challenges 002/11 Friends 24-7

This week on the Sunny Challenges blog, once again it's a sketch plus you have to use the stamp set Friends 24-7.  Well believe it or not, I have had this set for some time but it hadn't been inked.  Just like last week's challenge stamp set, Inspired by Nature.
I deviated a touch from the sketch by adding my favourite seam binding/lace bow which I dyed using blushing bride reinker secured with an antique brad.  I didn't distress this card because I liked the soft and pretty colours like they were and I was a bit limited with what I could use re stamp sets.  I suppose that's why they call it a challenge...right?
Thanks for visiting my blog and hope you all have a good night.

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge 11

Yes, I know I'm too late for this challenge but I loved the sketch.  Here is my card using this sketch.  I had a ball making this.  The seam binding I dyed using Riding Hood Red reinker, but I should have worn gloves.  You should have seen my hands. rofl  My nails still have a red tinge.
OK, well that's if for today.  I'm off to work this afternoon at the tourist centre so had better get ready.
Take care everyone.

Create With Connie and Mary Colour Challenge 161

When I saw the colour challenge on Create With Connie and Mary this week, I just loved it.  Once again, one of the design team cards is my inspiration.  I really like the layering and use of newsprint Lisa did for her card.  Thank you Lisa.
The sketch I used is one from My Favourite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge on SCS.  I've changed the orientation of it though.
All products used are Stampin' Up.
Thanks for visiting my blog and hope you've had a wonderful day crafting.

Daffodil Delight Meets Newsprint.

I cut two lots of card stock and dsp when I was creating my Sunny Challenges card entry so this is card is using the second lot of bits.  This time I used Just Believe and added Daffodil Delight wide striped grosgrain.  I don't think it looks too bad.  Well, it's made now. lol
Hope everyone had a wonderful day crafting.

Sunny Challenges First Challenge

There is a new challenge blog in town!!!  Sunny Challenges and Creations.  For their first challenge we had to use the sketch provided AND use the stamp set Inspired by Nature!!!  Eeeekkk.  I think the sketch and the stamp set lend themselves to a DL card but as I can't display DL cards in the Tourist Centre very easily, I made my card the normal A5 size.
Card stock is basic black, crumb cake, very vanilla with Newsprint dsp for a couple of layers.
I've replaced the centre panel in the sketch with wide striped grosgrain ribbon.  The image was stamped off once to try and create a shadow effect and I've stamped the smaller images of the flower stamp. Pearls and an antique brad gathered bow finished off.
I'm undecided whether I'm happy with this card or not but it's made now so we'll see how it goes. lol
The retired list is out so there is much excitement amongst Aust/NZ demos today.
I'll have a look at it later.  Have to go out this morning.
Enjoy your day everyone.
