Rustic Rooster

The new Stampin' Up catalogue for 2009/2010 is due out April 1st. In it is a level two hostess set called Rustic Rooster. I love this set.
When I saw the colours of KWerner Colour Inspiration, I thought of my new Rustic Rooster set straight away. The sketch I used is Kerin Sylvester's Thursday Sketch Challenge week 6.
Stamps used were Rustic Rooster, Sanded and a For You out of It's Your Birthday. The paper is called Good Morning Sunshine. I used my button and thread touch on the wide ribbon.
We are going out for tea tonight so I'm off for a lie down.
Take care all.

Kristina Werner's Colour Inspiration #37

I decided to join in Kristina Werner Colour Inspiration challenge this week. These stamps are by Victoria's Secret here in Australia and are absolutely gorgeous. The three squares that make up the main stamp are popped up on dimensionals, as are the Old Olive butterfly in the centre and the large butterfly on the corner.
I added Diamond Dust to both butterflies with a glue pen. The sketch is SCS SC207 and seemed to suit the main stamp.
I also paper pierced the corners to emphasise the off centre strips. Soft Sky has been used instead of Baja Breeze. There isn't a lot of embellishments on this card because I did feel the stamps say it all.
Thanks for looking.

Kristina Werner's Colour Inspiration #36

I've combined two challenges here, one Kristina Werner's Colour Inspiration and SCS

New Year's Eve party 2008 - Katherine which was to use something "new". Well this set Carte Postale from this year's Australian SU catty has never seen ink. (blush) This card uses a layout that a friend of mine found on Donna's blog (Butternut Sage Designs) Thank you. I also needed something that was reasonably cost effective and simple for a workshop. Please let me know what you think.
Stamps - Carte Postale
Cardstock - Old Olive, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Rose Red DSP
Ink - Rose Red
Accessories - Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon, crimper, Large and small oval, 5 petal flower and spring flower bouquet punches, silver brad embossed with white embossing powder.
I'm sure that Bonjour greeting is straight on the real card. Obviously my photography skills need a lot of polishing.
Thanks for looking.

Kristina Werner's Colour Inspiration #32

Woo Hoo, I've managed to get the colour inspiration done early. Thanks for the challenge Kristina. Red Riding Hood isn't in Australia so I tossed up between Rose Red and Real Red. Real Red won.
I embossed the flowers in white on Real Red cardstock first then popped them up on different levels of dimensionals. For the metallic I used Brushed Gold and to give the extra sparkle that is in the inspiration picture, I used the glue pen to go over the un embossed areas of the flowers then added Diamond Dust glitter. The greeting is a white rub on from the Hidden Garden range of rubons available in the New Summer Mini. The stamp set is Eastern Blooms, again from the Summer Mini. I've also used the Dashing DSP to bring in the Very Vanilla colour and Real Red grosgrain ribbon.
Edited to add - The Real Red base card has been stamped with the branch out of Eastern Blooms in Real Red. I felt it needed just a bit of pattern.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking.

This is what I came up with.
I used the Stampin' Up markers on the tree stamp, huffed and puffed and stamped then huffed and puffed again to stamp the shadow.
