Vintage Little Darlings

I saw this card on my blog surfing travels.  It was perfect for two baby cards that friend's of mine had asked me to make for them.   I've kept the basic layout but changed a few things.  What attracted me to this card was the die Astrid used.  I had just purchased this same die and thought, wow, perfect!!
That paper is Graphic 45 Little Darlings.  The 'boy' stamp is an old one by Lucy's Stamps.
The card stock is Baja Breeze and Naturals Ivory.  The little safety pins are charms with the rings removed.  I didn't add any ribbon because these are, after all, baby boy cards.  The two flourishes are from Cheery Lynn and a Doo Hickey Die.
Hope you like my two vintage baby cards and thanks for visiting my blog today.

Meg's Garden - Pretty Green

This is another card based on one that was in an issue of Australian Simply Cards.  As I've said in previous posts, this issue was absolutely fantastic.  If you can get hold of it...I would. lol  Issue 42.
The papers of course are from Meg's Garden here in Australia.  The vintage picture is from the same place.  I can't remember where the butterflies came from...maybe a stamp?  Sorry, this card was made back in May.  Once again, it's since been sold. lol  The card stock I used is from Stampin' Up, it's the one card stock that I always reach for first for matching up colours.  I then go on to my other card stock supplies if I don't have success with Stampin' Up which isn't often.

I'm still trying to get over this horrible 'flu bug.  I think I'm beating it.   Sunday night I had a small issue to deal with.....a mouse!!!!  Just a little bush mouse, not the rodent kind, BUT was he a nuisance!!  I got him yesterday, managed to catch him in a towel and take him back to the bush.  Thank goodness.
Last night I managed to get some sleep to make up for all the lost hours on Sunday night.

Today I intend to finish a couple of baby cards I started yesterday and hopefully get a couple more cards done.
Enjoy your day everyone and take care.

Vintage A La Linda!!

These cards were made after seeing a card that Linda Coughlin - The Funkie Junkie made some weeks ago now.  The papers are some digital ones that Linda has used on her card. The feature tags are from The Graphic Fairy.
I made two of the flowers myself using Linda's technique with crinoline, tulle and dye.  The lace has been hand dyed with tea bags and on the two birds card, with a Tim Holtz reinker.  Both metal corners and the butterfly have been given Linda's treatment using Ranger's Weathered White embossing powder and distress stain.  I used a Tim Holtz doily die and Cheery Lynn dies for the backing doilies.
Stampin' Up card stock matched perfectly for all three cards.
Even though I love these cards, I wasn't sure how they would be received by my potential customers but I needn't have worried....all three have sold.
I'll leave it that and if you have any questions, feel free to email me.
Enjoy your day everyone and once again thanks for visiting my blog.

Purple, Gold, Black.

I had a request to make two cards, one wedding acceptance and the other, the wedding card.
The stipulation was that the colours had to be purple, gold and black.
Here are the results!!
I can say that the girl who ordered these, was over the moon when she saw them and the bride loved the wedding acceptance.  The wedding is soon, so hope to have feedback on the wedding card then.
I started with a black base, then gold mirror card stock then elegant eggplant.  The acceptance has a Tim Holtz flourish gold embossed on the elegant eggplant with Just Rite letters in the middle.  The wedding card has two Just Rite stamps gold embossed on the elegant eggplant.  The gold leaves are off a huge spray I picked up at my local florist....dear as poison but there's still heaps of it left. I combined the leaves with the black flowers and purple velvet ribbon which I seemed just perfect for this card.  Not too much.

Good news, yesterday, my son rang to say that the insurance people will fix his vehicle.  Oh Happy Day!!!!!
So that is a load off my mind.
Thanks for continuing to visit my blog.
Enjoy your day.

Pretty Pixie Glen.

 Good morning everyone.
Today I'm showing two cards that I made after reading a magazine called Australian Simply Cards.  The particular issue in question was absolutely jam packed with fabulous inspiration and beautiful cards.
I used Prima Pixie Glen papers for both cards and matching SU Blushing Bride card stock and ribbon.  I had a play with a couple of new Tim Holtz dies also corners from Linda Coughlin.  The pins were a lot of fun to make and I must do more of them.

Thank you for visiting my blog yesterday and taking the time to comment and welcome me back.  Very much appreciated.
Today is a waiting day.....my son had a car accident two and a half weeks ago.  We are waiting for the insurance company to come to a decision as to whether they will pay for the repairs to the vehicle or not.
I'm not good at waiting for these sorts of decisions....I like the know and know NOW!!!  lol
Meanwhile I hope I can settle enough to get some more cards made as I have more orders to finish.
The stocks at the Tourist Centre and my friend's coffee shop are very low so will have to get something accomplished soon.
Enjoy the day and take care.

I'm Back!!!!

Good Morning everyone.   I hope I have some followers left.   Since my last post which was on the, eeekkk, 30th May, life has definitely got in the way of my blogging.
In early June, Jean, Kerry and I went to the Scrapbooking and Papercraft Convention & Expo in Brisbane.  We had an absolute ball!!!!
There was a fantastic line up of overseas talent at this year's show.
Tim Holtz, Eric & Irina from La La Land, Mike & Jan Marie from Flourishes and Mike from Cheery Lynn dies, were all literally swamped with people.
It was the best show I've ever attended.
Below are two cards that I made in May.  The original design of these cards was actually the top of a box.  I can't remember the name of the lady who made said box but I would like to thank her for the inspiration.

The last photo is my pride and joy, me with Tim Holtz.  Considering the amount of people lining up for photos and to watch his demonstrations, I'm amazed that I actually managed to get a photo with him.
Thanks Tim!!!!

Now that I've started the ball rolling, so to speak, I'll be back with more cards that I've made in the intervening months, tomorrow.
A big thank you to the ladies that emailed me to find out how I was and to ask if I was coming back to blogging.
It's a grey miserable day here at the moment and I have the flu, but I'm staying inside and resting.
Take care everyone,
