Thought I'd show you these cards

Last year, one of the classes I did was on embossing paste and stencils. Thank you to Michelle for the class and the inspiration for the card sketches.
I really enjoyed using the embossing paste so went beserk and did heaps of them. Mostly on suede paper but some on acetate too. Made a heap of them up and sent them out for Christmas cards. I thought you might like to see them. Here's the link 'cause there's far too many to load as separate pics. lol Thanks for looking.

Challenge card

Here's the card I made from some challenge bits received from my UK forum Crafting Friends.
In the pack was a piece of white card embossed with the cuttlebug folder Traffic Jam, one fabric flower, 3 bling jewels and a piece of ribbon.

This is the result. I swiped a Brilliance Galaxy Gold inkpad over the embossed card, layered it with Gold Kromecote, gold embossed the sentiment and versamarked the flower then coloured with Aztec Gold pearlex.
Credit for the card sketch goes to SCS Card Sketch challenge 161 Thanks so much. Fabulous sketch.

What do you think? OK?

Today's efforts

Well today I made a bookmark for a swap I'm in on a UK forum. So until it gets to it's destination, I'd better not show it.
Instead I'll post the Christmas cards I've made so far in January. Hoping to get some made every month. Maybe this will stop my last minute rush that happens every Christmas. lol
Don't know who owns the original sketches, thank you to them.

Female birthday - no pink

This is the card I made for a comp on a UK forum that I'm a member of. I 'spose in some ways it could be more a male card but I added the black and white floral ribbon. Some females like the black and red combo. I was happy with it.
Both the stamps are by Lucy's Stamps. The wording stamp was masked. The first time I had done this and it worked perfectly. The backing paper is DCWV, black and white mat stack.
All comments appreciated.
Editet to add, that I used a sketch from somewhere, can't remember where from, so thanks for the sketch.

Gone Fishin'

Well only one card for the last 3 days. Have been trying to shift a headache.
Then to top it all off, the rain has stopped. Now it's so humid......dreadful.
I stuggled with this card a bit even though I thought I had it sorted in my head.
Perhaps I'm trying too hard. Tomorrow I have to work so maybe get a break.
I'm happy with the cuttlebug acetate. Cut, layered and angled it to give the effect of the ocean moving. Love my porthole and at first the pic was not turning out at all but I'm happy with it now.
The 'gone fishin' was 'sposed to look like a piece of driftwood.
Thanks for looking.
Edited to add, on refelction, looking at the photo, I'm thinking that it doesn't look too bad at all. lol

Dad's birthday card

After I had finished the 'warm hello' card, I was wondering what to do with the 'D' I had embossed with Opals for my Dad's birthday. He's into fishing so wanted to do something along those lines. I had made a card last year that I hadn't been happy with so I decided to rip into it and salvage what I could, which was the stamped image. Originally I was just using the blues colours but searching through my ribbons, came across this gorgeous grosgrain which was perfect. All I had to do was to add some brown into the card. I diecut some corners, added another oval layer and a knot of ribbon. Hey presto, it worked!! Dad's birthday card.

I'm over the moon with this card and think it looks great. What do you think?
Edited to add, if this is someone's sketch, thank you so much.

Thursday night

Thank you to all the people who have commented on my cards. Love reading them.

Well I didn't start my cardmaking until later this afternoon. Toooo humid this morning. I was dripping just standing still.

I used one of the backgrounds I made on Tuesday for this card that is for a friend of mine who needs cheering up. Another chipboard letter embossed with those gorgeous Opals..see previous post. The nestas came into play again. I think I'm happy with this card. Any comments?

Wednesday morning.

I've been up since 5.30am, been to work, then to Sarina for the groceries. Home again now. Have a couple of things to do in the kitchen then I can play with the backgrounds I made yesterday at Ilbilbie craft.
Watch this space.
BTW the Karen that taught me how to do those paper flowers, is a Stampin' Up demonstrator and her blog is Luv To Stamp . Her flowers are way better than mine. lol

Apologies for the lousy pics of yesterday's cards. Have fixed them and also adjusted the position of one of the flowers (thanks to Jean).

Here's the better pics.

Monday night

Well I played. I think I'm happy with the cuttlebug card. Both used the Stampin' Up Roses in Winter set. Hope you are reading this Kerrie. lol
The flowers were done with a technique that I learnt from Karen (A Stampin' Up Demonstrator). The layout for the torn edge one was inspired by a card in the current Stampin' Up catty. The other was another card sketch by Bec's Page Maps, I think.
Thanks for looking.
Edited to add my pics. Sorry about to go to bed and realised I hadn't added them.

Monday morning.

Yipppeeeee, just been to the Post Office and my Xyron 510 has arrived. Very very good service from Scrappers Warehouse . Will be shopping with them again.
My other new toy, the Creative Memories guillotine is brilliant.

I thought I should ammend my profile a bit, to let you people know where I am in Oz. At the moment, it's overcast with the forecast being rain. That doesn't bother me in the least, it's when the sun comes out and the humidity goes sky high, that I feel it badly. Look for the huge puddle on the floor. lol

Well OH has gone to work, (Coal train driver) and my DS is at a mate's place. The dishwasher needs to be put on, then I can play. Way Hay.....I'm off.
BTW, thanks so very much for the comments you leave. It's wonderful reading them, please keep commenting. I love them.

Sunday night

Well two more cards done this afternoon. One I can show you, the other is for a comp on a cardmaking forum. That one will have to wait.

Again, I'm loving these nestabilities. I used the Both Way Blossoms set from Stampin' Up for this one. It is one set I do struggle with. For this card I used a sketch by, I think, Bec's page maps. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks for looking and please leave a comment. It's wonderful to read them.

Sunday morning

Well I've been up since 5.30am, couldn't sleep. It's overcast here today with not that much humidity, well I'm not melting away to a puddle.
A trip to Ilbilbie this morning to collect my new Creative Memories guillotine. I've got a little guillotine already but it's in inches. When I'm trying to cut something in metric it's not easy.
I'm off now to try it out and to make some more cards.

Enjoyed myself

I played again this afternoon. Managed two cards out of the backgrounds I made Thursday. Very pleased with them. One has an initial on it, that I manged to use my Opals embossing enamels on. drool drool over those Opals.

Wonder if I can get a link in here. Opals
Way Hay, I did it.
After using my Nestabilities, I now want more. They are superb and soooo easy. Yep, I'm also into ribbon and bows at the mo. Can you tell? rofl
The green and purple card has a stamped image from Stamp It and coloured with H2O's with a bit of bling added. The burgundy card has the opal letter as previously mentioned and Aztec Gold kindy glitz to add a bit of bling.
Edited to give credit to the Splitcoast Stampers card sketch numbers 145 and 153. Thanks for the inspiration.

OK

I'll try and add a photo. This card I made while playing around on Thursday afternoon. Wanted to use a technique I'd learnt in a card class but didn't have the foam roller needed. So instead, dabbed chalk ink with a make up sponge onto the Cuttlebug embossing folder. I feel it worked really well.
What do you think?

Mmmmmm first post

Still working out what to do here. Bear with me.
