Rustic Rooster

The new Stampin' Up catalogue for 2009/2010 is due out April 1st. In it is a level two hostess set called Rustic Rooster. I love this set.
When I saw the colours of KWerner Colour Inspiration, I thought of my new Rustic Rooster set straight away. The sketch I used is Kerin Sylvester's Thursday Sketch Challenge week 6.
Stamps used were Rustic Rooster, Sanded and a For You out of It's Your Birthday. The paper is called Good Morning Sunshine. I used my button and thread touch on the wide ribbon.
We are going out for tea tonight so I'm off for a lie down.
Take care all.

Inkspirations colour challenge

I tried my hand at Makeesha's colour challenge last night. I used Tart and Tangy, Dazzling Diamonds, Pumpkin Pie DSP, It's Beautiful wheel, scallop border punch, Purely Pomegrante stitched ribbon and Pumpkin Pie brads. I'm quite happy with this card. I changed the original card I had done to this one which is much better I think.
The sketch is one that Kerin Sylvester had on her blog a while back.

Today was spent at Ilbilbie doing.....wait for it.....anyone who knows me will be stunned.....scrapping. Yes, that's right, I finished two pages of my calendar scrapbook. March is done, just have to put some journalling, and little touches to it. I'm so pleased with it for my first real attempt. I also actually did the lesson today as well using circles. Pretty cool.

OK, I'm away to cook some tea. Take care everyone.
Thanks for stopping by.

Bali Breeze and Eastern Blooms

These are a batch of cards I made up using the Bali Breeze DSP and the stamp set Eastern Blooms. The layout is an adaption of the one I used to make this card. Quick, easy and very effective I think.
I've had quite a busy week one way or another. Other than these cards, I have been putting inserts into cards and getting them sent out for birthdays etc.
Hoping to start doing some convention swaps in the next few days. Probably not tomorrow though, I'm off scrapping. lol
Thanks for looking.

Yummy!

I'm one of the people that liked this set that was in the 2009 Saleabration catalogue. I could see a lot of use for the stamps when making things for cake stalls etc.
Saturday was the Queensland State Election day and Koumala CWA always has a cake stall on election days at the school where the voting booth is set up. So I made coconut ice and packaged it up with labels cut with my rectangle nestabilities and stamped with "A little yummy for your tummy" in Rose Red. I was so pleased with them. Yes, I received a lot of smiles and comments on my labels and people did buy the coconut ice.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Le Jardin cards

A few weeks ago I purchased several of Andrea Walford's planners. I love them. I have heaps of birthdays that cards are needed for, so I made the cards out of the Le Jardin planner, production style. The only one that I didn't do many of was the Hat Pin one. I made two of those, for two special birthdays. Karen has received hers but the other is going overseas.
They were easy and look so elegant. Thanks Andrea. I changed colours a bit and used some different stamps but mostly they are the same as the planner. If you are needing workshop or class ideas, these are the go, because it's all done for you. Fabulous for when you've lost your mojo. lol All the products are Stampin' Up.
Thanks for visiting.

Card Box

I've finally finished this project that I started way back. Many thanks to Tracey Old for the idea. I enlarged mine quite a bit and it's 6½" x 5" with a height of 6". I wanted it big enough to hold square cards. For the box, I used Always Artichoke textured cardstock. The embellishments and paper are from the Secret Garden scrapping kit.
I did reinforce the inside and the lid with thick cardboard, so it's quite sturdy now. The lid closes with Basic Grey magnetic snaps.
My letters are Kaisercraft chipboard and covered in Pipedreamink opals 'The Nut'. A gorgeous brown.
Inside are the dividers made from Groovy Guava textured c/s and the tabs I used are from the Secret Garden scrapping kit. I punched the round tab punch through 4 of the square stickers in that kit to make up the rest of the tabs.
Excuse my printing. I figured since it's for me, I could write the months myself.
I'm pretty stoked with it actually and as soon as I've made sure those magnets are sticking properly, I'm going to put cards in it!!
Thanks for looking and commenting on my creations. I love receiving comments and reading them.

Teddy Friendship card

Another teddy card, this time for a lady who likes bears. I've managed to make one card for two challenges here. Woo Hoo. Hope it passes. The first challenge is from Cupcake Craft Challenges using certain colours, I chose brown + pink. The second challenge is from Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. The stamp is from PSX and the rest of the items on the card are Stampin' Up. I used my nestabilities and a cuttlebug embossing folder as well.
Purely Pomegranate, Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White cardstock. The ribbon is velvet and absolutely gorgeous. I saw an idea on a blog and for the life of me, I can't remember where but the lady had just folded the ribbon into a bow and put a button over the centre. If someone knows which blog I saw this on, please let me know so I can give the appropriate credit. Thanks.
ETA - I found out where, da, on Karen's own card for her Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. Fair dinkum, something is definitely wrong. lol Thanks Karen for the idea.
I used this idea with the velvet ribbon and added flowers from the Pretties kit and coloured by sponging ink onto them. A half back white pearl completed the centre.
I've rambled on a bit, sorry.
Away to get some tea now.
Thanks for looking,

Christmas Baubles

I'm on a roll today! I've managed to make a card for two challenges, 2 Red Bananas - Banana Split Sunday and Colour Create. I did enjoy doing this card despite the fact I had to do the image three times. Jolly thing!! Think it's ok now. Right onto what I used. Alison Ellis papers(yummo), Bazzill cardstock, gold paper from my stash, Kaisercraft and Prima flowers, red bling and twinkling H2O's. Oh yeah, mustn't forget, my Martha Stewart branch punch too. Love that punch. lol I embossed the image which is a stamp called Christmas Baubles by Artee Stamps in gold then coloured with the h2o's. I'm not very good at using h2o's but I don't use a water brush anymore. I bought myself a couple of very fine synthetic brushes which seem to work much better for me.
Thanks for looking, hope you like my attempt at these two challenges.

House Mouse Seaside Fun

Well I'm back again with another card for the House Mouse Monday Challenge. As usual, I'm dragging the chain. The challenge this week was to make a male card. The sketch I used is from Sketch Saturday. Actually I love the sketch but I'm not 100% sure that I like the card I've made. Oh well, it's done now.
I stamped my image in Versafine Sepia ink and only coloured the crab as I wanted him to stand out. That's the part of the image that really cracks me up. rofl
Then I stamped some PSX shell stamps in the Versafine Sepia ink and mounted them on to the corner. The paper is Kaisercraft Cocco range and the cardstock is Bazzill Raw Silk range which I've had for years. I used the Sanded background from Stampin' Up and some ribbon from my stash. The scallop edge punch from Stampin' Up was used to make the scallop edge on the dsp.

This week hasn't been the best for our family. We lost our family dog, Pepper, who has lived at the farm ever since she arrived as a stray 10 years ago. My Dad is away and I've got the terrible job of telling Dad when he comes home tomorrow night. She hadn't been at all well so I took her to the vet on Friday but it was a Neurological problem which had been coming on and there wasn't anything anyone could do.
Bringing Pepper home was the longest 40 miles I've ever driven. At least she's at peace and out of pain.

Sorry, I don't usually post anything other than cards so if you've read this, Thank You.
I'm having a bit of a blub now, so I'll go and finish off some other cards I'm making. Bye.

Boy/Girl Teddies

My girlfriend requested a baby card, but she's not sure whether it's a boy or a girl. So I made two, exactly the same layout, same image, different papers and ribbon. The stamp is by PSX and soooo cute. I don't know if I've coloured the teddies alright, hope so. Not much chop at teddies I'm afraid. The papers are Little Miss and Little Man by Kaisercraft. I stamped the middle of the flowers with my sentiment and felt quite proud of myself for thinking of it. lol Just had a look at the pic and you can't see the sentiment in the middle of the flowers.
I realise of course, it's not a new idea, but for me to remember it, is amazing.
I used a combo of Kaisercraft and Hero Arts flowers. Cardstock and ribbon is Stampin' Up.
The sketch is Mojo Monday's Week 76 turned on it's side. My image didn't look right, the other way.
All safe here, Cyclone Hamish hasn't crossed the coast and is still travelling south-southeast parallel to the Queensland coast.
Thanks for all your wonderful comments on all my cards. I love reading them.
Enjoy!

House Mouse Sweet Kiss

Hello from a wet and maybe soon to be windy Koumala. There is a category 4 cyclone out there in the Coral Sea called Hamish. It's currently travelling at 17kms an hour, south-southeast, parallel to the coast. Here's a link to the map. We've already lost power here today for an hour or so, perhaps an indication of what's to come?

Anyway, I managed to make a card for the House Mouse Monday Challenge. We had to use chipboard on our project. The papers I used are from the Kaisercraft A La Carte range. I used Eucalypt Opals on my Kaisercraft chipboard flourish and added the lace. The sketch is Mojo Monday's Week 75. The card probably doesn't conform completely to the sketch but I like it.
Yes, I know the photo is crooked, but after taking several and they were all the same for some reason, I gave up.

Thanks for visiting.
