Vintage 50th And Explanation.

Oh my goodness, it's been a long, long time since I posted on my blog.  For a couple of months into the new year, I was sewing quite a lot making quilts etc.  I needed the break from paper craft and card making badly.  My mojo had gone, I didn't have any interest in any of my papers or stamps, so I definitely needed to step away.  I did get to make a few cards during that time because I had orders from friends.  I've since come back into my card making refreshed and clear in my mind.   I'm doing a few classes now and that is keeping me busy.  A friend of mine is now doing a bit of quilting and stitching due to my influence so to keep Lex focused, I'm keeping up with my sewing.

This card was made early in the year as an order.  The lady it was made for does a lot of machine embroidery, the other criteria was that it had to have a vintage look and 50th birthday on the front.
Here is what I came up with and the recipient was over the moon with her card.  It's so long ago, that I can't remember if I followed a sketch or changed another card around.  Very probably I used ideas from Linda, The Funkie Junkie.  I know the lace definitely came from Linda.  The flowers are from a collection of goodies that a friend of mine at the Tourist Centre in Sarina very kindly gave to me.  The card stock is Stampin' Up.

If you still follow me, thanks for taking the time to visit.

Oh, my, it has been a while, Leigh, and I've missed seeing your beautiful cards. You really raise the bar on these vintage designs. Sometimes you just have to take a break from a certain craft, but if you love it you come back to it. Every now and then I take a blogging break, but I keep right on stamping. That and gardening have been sustaining interests over the years. Good to see you and your lovely card!
