Bandana Technique

Last year whilst trawling Splitcoast Stampers I came across a site called Technique Junkies. At the time I couldn't afford to join but kept it in mind for future reference. I have now joined Technique Junkies and have already tried out a couple of the techniques. One of them is called Bandana Technique and is currently in the August issue of the newsletter. So last Sunday I spent the day playing and using some of my new stash, distress inks. I also had a play with Alcohol inks and Salted backgrounds. I'll get some cards made with these backgrounds before I put them on my blog.
I was challenged by a friend of mine, Jean, to make a card using the little owl set from Hero Arts that we both own. So I've risen to the challenge combining one of my Bandana technique pieces with the owl. Will it pass Jean? I used the word window punch to punch out a window in the two layers to expose the black then stamped the wording in White Brilliance.
Stamps are by Hero Arts and Stampin' Up.
Cardstock: More Mustard, Basic Black, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Inks: Distress Inks by Tim Holtz, More Mustard, Archival Ink Black, Brilliance White
Accessories: White Gel Pen, More Mustard ribbon, Old Olive brads.
Here's another Bandana Technique this time without the owl. lol Again I used the word window punch to expose the black cardstock and used white craft ink to stamp the wording.
Stamps: Judikins, Stampin' Up
Cardstock: More Mustard, Old Olive, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Inks: Black Archival, White Craft, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, More Mustard
Accessories: White gel pen, Old Olive brads, More Mustard ribbon.
These last two pics are cards I've received in two swaps I joined. One a technique swap and the other is July's swap for our group.

I saw your Bandana Technique.jpg card in an email from TJ and had to tell you how much I love your card.
