Ribbon Box

I've had this project started for quite some time now. Decided to get in and finish it today. Kaisercraft chipboard Beyond the Page stuff is mostly flat when you buy it. So I bought the box and the ribbon reels, which come separately. Painted the edges and then used the "To Have & To Hold" Kaisercraft papers to cover the box. The braid around the joins at the side and back is from Bobbin & Sew in Sarina and matches perfectly the black and cream in the papers. Sorry they aren't good pics, it's been overcast and raining here all day (Woo Hoo, lovely rain).
The chipboard letters on the top spelling ribbons have been covered using Opals Embossing Enamels from Pipedreamink I spent goodness knows how much time trying to get the colour I wanted and ended up with so many layers on the letters. I think they've turned out ok. I didn't want to use black on the letters. The butterfly is a chipboard shape from Kaisercraft too. I again used the Opals on it as well. Then I decorated the whole box with flowers and pearls and the matching brads to the papers.
I'll have to take a decent photo when the sun comes out again, çause you can't see the butterfly very well. This was my first attempt at doing anything like this....beyond the page stuff. I have bought some other chipboard things to do, also from Kaisercraft, so I'll see how I go.
Thanks for looking.

Leigh - this is beautiful and a perfect way to hold ribbon. I have been trying to find a way to hold my ever growing ribbon stash and think you have solved my dilemma - thank you - if I run into any snags, I know who to call :)

I am looking forward to getting to know you via SCS blogger group #7.

Have a great evening.
