Kick Up Your Heels!!!!

I've made this card for the High Hopes Challenge 90. It's a sketch and I do like sketches. I've had this High Hopes stamp for a couple of months now but haven't been in the mood for colouring. Yes Kathy, I did try to use my copics but didn't have the colours I needed. So back to my good old faithfuls...Prisma Colour Pencils. Once again I've used Basic Grey Cappella paper. Love this stuff. lol I've followed the sketch pretty closely feeling that I wanted the image to be the focus not lots of embellishments. The doiley is cut from a Marianne Designs die, which I really like. Cardstock is SU Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom, Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss. The image panel was layered on a piece of Blush Blossom and I cut the Vanilla and Black pieces with Nesties. The border is a Martha Stewart punch called Deco Shells. Some Stamp Simply lace and velvet ribbon with Kaisercraft pearls finished off my card.

It's raining here once again with storms predicted. The power flickered a couple of hours ago and I see on the radar that Mackay and Sarina are getting the rain now. We had the storm about 11.30 and it pelted down.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my cards and taking the time for visit my blog.

Capella Birthday

Here is another card I've made using the Basic Grey Capella papers. The sketch this time is Week 39 from Create 4 fun challenge blog. I changed the centre panel to an oval and added pearls to the bare side to liven the card up a bit. The stamp is a Posh Impressions one that if I remember correctly I won on ebay. Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom, Mellow Moss cardstock from SU goes perfectly with these papers. I stamped En Francais on the Blush Blossom background to take away the blankness of the card. Gorgeous Stamp Simply ribbon and lace with a matching Basic Grey brad finished off my card.

I've had to order another 6 x 6 Basic Grey Capella pad because yesterday I cut 8 more card kits using this paper and you could say that my original paper pad is just about had it. lol

I'm entering this card in the challenge so I hope my added pearls and the oval centre pass muster.
Thanks for visiting my blog today and I do appreciate all your comments.

Birthday Music

I'm pretty sure that this piece of music isn't Happy Birthday to you, but it's from the new SU paper called Newsprint. I put it with Black and Vanilla with some Lacey Circles and a Just Rite sentiment. Some gorgeous Stamp Simply ribbon with one of the new SU Antique brads down the bottom and a couple of EK Success punched swirls embellished with SU pearls and I was done.
My card was inspired by this card made by Ann Schach.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and taking the time to comment.

Capella for 18th Birthday

I've been itching to use my Basic Grey Capella kit but just haven't got to it. This card was the perfect excuse. My son tells me I'm not up to date but I certainly hope this card passes for an 18th girl birthday card.
The stamps in the middle are by Just Rite and I've used vintage pink velvet ric rac and Champainge silk for trims. The cardstock is Basic Black, Mellow Moss, Blush Blossom all from SU. The little doiley was cut from a Marianne Designs die which I absolutely love. The sketch is from Viva la Verve September Week 3 which I immediately knew I could use for this card.
I don't this there's anything else to explain but please feel free to email me if you want to know anything.

In the Lap of Luxury

I decided that I would do two more cards using the same sketch as my previous post. This is one of SU new paper packs called Lap of Luxury. Very vanilla is the base card. I used some gorgeous Stamp Simply satin ribbon trim, crochet lace, wrinkled and silk ribbon for embellishments. Little roses on each bow finished them off. The sentiments are Just Rite stamps and at the moment, I'm using them a lot.
Thanks for visiting and hope everyone is well.

Halloween in Wonderland

After seeing Sharon's cards and Michelle's cards I decided to try this sketch myself. I don't think I picked the easiest of papers to use and for a while I was stumped but here are the results. I'm reasonably pleased with them and for the moment, I've had my fill of Halloween in Wonderland. lol
I used Just Rite stamps for the sentiments and a kit that I purchased from Sharon. Flowers and some of the ribbon is out of my stash. The sentiment circles have been sponged with Distress inks.
The weather here is very grey and dismal. Raining or drizzling all the time and has been for the last two days. Not good for cane farmers trying to get cane off at the moment.
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone and thanks for visiting.

Male Mouse Tails

I've had these images coloured for months, so decided to make them into cards. Both are intended for male cards but looking at them now, they are suitable for females as well I suppose.
Once again, sorry I can't give credit for the sketches çause I can't remember which ones they were. These cards have been made for a month or so. Cardstock is Bazzill and Core'dinations, dp from my stash as too are the brads. I think the Happy Birthday greeting is a Stamp It one and the Best Wishes is Hero Arts.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Camouflage Owl

I've seen lots of sorts of owls done with the new SU owl punch. Here's my owl, Camouflage Owl complete with 'giggle' hat. The papers are Kaisercraft and are a couple of years old, called Military I think. The embossed piece is to represent a tree and I used Tim Holtz's woodgrain embossing folder to the get the look I wanted. Then I swiped it over an ink pad. The sketch is one I found yesterday and now I can't remember where I saw it so I can't give credit. Sorry about that. The punched pieces for the hat were scrunched to give the look of a real giggle hat.
I would like to give credit to Lynn Pratt for her owls çause that's how I worked out how to put the hat on. Think that's it, thanks once again for visiting.

Flutterbys

This card did not start out to end like it did. For some reason, it had a mind of it's own.
I've used my new Lacey Circles nesties and a gorgeous Marianne Creatable doiley die. I punched the butterflies using my MS Monach butterfly punch out of the same paper as the background which is SU retired Tea Party.
Stitched satin ribbon with a big bow and bling finished off this little girl's card.

It's been quite a hectic time here. Dean has started a full time TAFE course, Cert 2 in Construction which he seems to be liking. So it's up to Sarina every morning to get him to the bus that leaves at 7am and then picking him up off the bus at 6pm. At least I know that the week days are consistent, not like school with him making different arrangements and his part time job making each day different with no continuity at all. lol

Just have to get myself organised and get crafting.
Thanks for visiting today.

One for the Fabric Collector!!

One of my friends had her 60th birthday a few weeks ago. Jan is into patchwork, quilting, stitcheries, you get the idea. Actually all the things I loved until I started papercrafting.
So here is the card I made especially for Jan. I used Cosmo Cricket papers called Material Girl which are perfect for sewing friends. The stamps I bought in Brisbane at the June show. I think they are by Darcy. Can't find them at the moment çause I'm pretty sure they are underneath the pile of stuff on my table.
Things are been very chaotic here the last week or so, I'm over the bug but am trying to help my son find an apprenticeship or job which is causing a bit of grief. It's certainly not easy nowadays.
He's been accepted into a full time Cert 2 Construction course at TAFE which could lead to something for him. So for the rest of this year he's finished with high school and I'm so hoping that he won't have to go back to grade 12 next year.
Thanks for visiting and your patience with my spasmodic posting.
