This week on 4 Crafty Chicks the challenge is to dig deep, dig real deep in our stash and use eyelets. Mmmm well, I did have to dig deep çause I had never bought Stampin' Up eyelets, by then, I was over eyelets. Well I think I've risen to the challenge. I used a sketch I saw on a challenge by Our Craft Lounge that I really liked.
Once again I've used the Love Letter dsp. For the sentiment I used a stamp from the set Perfect Punches. I stamped the sentiment minus the flourish, cut out the oval, then matted it on black punched with the wide oval punch. Yes, I know it's on an angle but I liked it that way. The sketch just had a button on it but I tried it and didn't like it. So the bow with button got the tick of approval. Light Riding Hood Red sponging around the Eiffel Tower panel and the sentiment oval blended the colours in a bit better rather than stark vanilla on black or red.
That's it I think. Yes, two posts in one day but tomorrow is out for crafting. I have to go to town in the morning then work in the afternoon.
It's been raining all day here and I mean rain not drizzle, real wet season rain. It was the same yesterday and Saturday was a bit grey too. They reckon it's going to continue for a few days yet. Oh dear, paddling around the slush of the back yard....yuck. Can't do anything about it though and I would rather rain than drought. Thanks for visiting and hope you like my card.

Love Letter for Connie & Mary
I've been following the Create with Connie and Mary challenge blog for some time but this is the first time I've actually entered a card for it. Below is the sketch for this week, CCMC143.
This is the card I came up with for this sketch challenge. I hope it qualifies, çause I've made a square card but kept the essential elements of the sketch still. Well I think I did anyway.
I used Love Letter dsp which at the moment is copping a flogging çause now that I've decided I liked it, I have to use it. Instead of the sentiment in the sketch I've added a flourish from Baroque Motifs, black embossed to give a bit a depth and texture (hmm not that you can see that in the pic). The butterflies are from the Sale-A-Bration set Bliss and the circles they are sitting on were punched out of the motif in Artistic Etchings. I lightly sponged around the edges of the punched scalloped oval and circles with Riding Hood Red ink to take off the starkness a bit. I absolutely love my Well Scripted set and use it a lot. Black satin ribbon, pearls on the bow, butterfly bodies and greeting finished this card off.

Lap of Luxury Thank You
I saw this card by Teneale Williams and decided that this was exactly what I needed to make a commissioned Thank You card. I have changed the colours and papers but used the same stamp set, Bliss out of the current Sale-A-Bration catalogue. I also wanted to try a little trick that Jean pointed out to me on Heather Summers blog. After reading Heather's blog, I understand that this tip came from Mary Fish. You punch the Decorative Label Punch and then feed it back into the punch and cut again when you've got the little knobs on the end even.
The stamped background I used is something that is very popular at the moment, making a picture and then embossing it with the Square Lattice EF. Squashes it all down and melds it together so to speak.
The little Thank You is out of the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.
Hope you like my card and thanks for visiting today.

Another Golden Egg Award
Wow, guess what? I've won another Golden Egg Award. I usually can't win an argument so winning this award along with the two other ladies is so exciting. Thanks so much to the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge blog.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Late Elegant Soiree
I saw the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge 106 and this card by Vicki Burdick. I used Vicki's card as inspiration for my own card. Thanks Vicki.
Just about all Stampin' Up supplies. I'll be sorry to see the lace go which is in the current mini catalogue. Hope they bring it back in the new main catalogue in September.
Anyway, thanks for visiting and hope you all have a wonderful day.

Love Letter Challenge
The dsp Love Letter from Stampin' Up was one of the new toys I received last week so I just had to get in and use it for this weeks 4 Crafty Chicks sketch challenge. I've had Artistic Etchings since the new catalogue was issued but hadn't used it. For some reason, parts of this card came together well and other parts didn't. I think I'm happy with the end result. Too late now. lol
For the panel on the black punched piece I actually stamped the motif from Artistic Etchings along the dotted lines of a piece of Love Letter dsp. The main image panel background was stamped using En Francais in Riding Hood Red ink, but after I'd stamped off twice. The large oval and decorative label punch has been used for the sentiment with the butterfly out of the Sale-A-Bration set Bliss sitting on the corner. Pearls for the butterfly's flight path, along the stamped motif panel and on the main image panel are from Stampin' Up. Both sentiment and main image have been sponged using Riding Hood Red ink.
Hope you like my card and thanks for visiting.

So Excited!!!!!
I won one of the Golden Egg Awards on the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge blog. Absolutely over the moon, just couldn't believe it. Thanks so much to the DT for choosing my card for one of the three winners. Congratulations to the other two ladies.
Also many thanks to everyone who commented on my card. Very much appreciated. To all who wanted my 'cleaning up craft room skills', sorry, but I've now run out of puff. rofl
To Jane, who cheekily told me to go and make a mess in my clean craft room, I'm doing that now by doing up some card kits and making a card for Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday sketch challenge.
Have a happy day everyone.

The 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge
I've had this card half made for a week or so but was inspired to finish it when I saw the 4 Crafty Chicks Colour Challenge for this week. So here it is, a card using Concord Crush, Pretty in Pink and Basic Grey.
For the last 3 or 4 days I've been cleaning up my craft room, reorganising and throwing out.
When Stampin' Up released their new colour groups I didn't get around to reorganising my cardstock, inks, pens etc. Well it's been driving me crazy. So now it's done. All my stamps have been culled and what is left is sorted into groups like wordings, flowers/nature, seaside, male etc and then into alphabetical order. I can then go to any of the catalogues over the past years, mainly this year though and find exactly what I'm looking for.
Anything that I'm not using at the moment, like Christmas, are all in Dean's old room. I hope no one wants to stay in a big hurry. rofl
The spare washing machine is currently residing in there too as well as Charlie's exercise bike.
So now I'm all ready to craft but I don't want to mess up my tidy room. lol
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

Time is Valuable!!
I had a girlfriend visit me on Saturday. We had a lovely time making cards. This is one of them. Margaret wanted to make a male card so using SU Black and Not Quite Navy and Cajun Craze as an accent, this is what we came up with. I can't find the sketch we used but when I do I'll edit this post.
It's been a very busy week and I've still got a mail run to do tomorrow then I'm free again. lol
Enjoy your day everyone.
