Pocket cards - Trifold and normal

I finished off another baby girl pocket card which I had started yesterday. This one has an embossed panel on the front using the cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. Again I stamped the rabbit and coloured him using SU chalks. Cardstock colours are Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. Ribbon is Pretty in Pink. Eyelets are Barely Banana and the ink used on the Baby stamp is Pretty in Pink. Sets used are Lovely Labels and A New Little Someone which is sadly retired.
My stock of baby cards at the Tourist centre is really low so I should be making more but I keep wanting to try out different things. I had seen the SCS tutorial on Trifold pocket cards, printed it out even but hadn't done anything, until that is I saw Jean's card.

Using SU Outlaw ds papers, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Creamy Caramel and Natual Ivory cardstock I concocted this card. I say concocted because it didn't start off with any cardstock at all. That was sort of all added as after thoughts as were the eyelets, punchings and hemp twine. The only stamping on the card is on the insert using a Saleabration set called Lots of Thoughts. The colour of the eyelets is Creamy Caramel and the Hemp Twine is Natural.

I think I'm happy with it but hmmmmm not really sure. Any comments?

Thanks for looking. By the way if anyone wants to take this damm fluey bug and bronchitis off me, they are quite welcome to it.

Pocket cards

I made pocket cards today. Firstly using my SU Brocade Backgrounds dspapers, Sweet Sampler stamps and co ordinating cardstock. Not bad I thought.
Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and River Rock are the card stock colours with choc chip and old olive inks and markers.

The baby girl pocket card is using a retired set, a New Little Someone. I chalked the rabbit and used pretty in pink and barely banana colours with whisper white. The round baby stamp is out of a new set called Lovely Labels.

I took these photos outside in the hope that they would be clearer with natural light but I don't know. Think I need to accept the fact, that I can't take photos.
Thanks for looking.

First ever scrapbook page

Anyone who knows me will realise that this is a very unLeigh like thing to have happened. A scrapbook page by Leigh.
I was invited to a Creative Memories party today, hence this page you see here. We were all given a co-ordinating paper set, journalling square, photo mat and stickers.
This is my attempt. The sticker at the top pointing towards the tent says 'Taj Mahal of tents', just an illusion to the fact that it is the flashiest tent with everything that opens and shuts. lol
My son was wanted to camp at the dam on the farm. He was all prepared the stay the night by himself, then rang me up saying that he didn't feel well etc etc. I knew he was feeling a bit uncertain about staying there alone for the night. So I suggested I pick him up and bring him home to have a shower, then I'd take him back. Mmmmm he said, ok, doubtfully. So that's what we did. Mind you, given half a chance he would have stayed at home and not gone back at all. I wouldn't let him. Thanks for looking.

Brocade Background & Secret Garden

These three cards were made from the Brocade Background designer papers and the Secret Garden scrapping kit by Stampin' Up.
One is very like the card in the lastest SU catalogue.
Sorry, not well today so explanation of cards not good.
Thanks for looking.

Bookmark

I am trying out some make and takes for a workshop in the next few weeks. Thanks to Deb (whose husband sourced these huge paper clips), I can now make the big clip bookmarks that Karen demoed in one of her workshops.

I love the new Stampin' Up in colours and wanted to use Wild Wasabi, so looked up my chart that tells me what colours look good with the In Colours and away I went. Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Groovy Guava and Choc Chip. The So Saffron which is in the middle of the flower you can't see 'cause I was a bit heavy handed with the crystal effects and diamond dust. The Choc Chip didn't get used. Baroque Motifs is the stamp set I used as well as the Scallop punch and the 1 3/8" circle punch. It hasn't turned out too badly.

Think I'll make another one, a bit differently this time trying to use all the four colours and see how that goes.
Thanks for looking.

Playing

I have so many birthdays to make cards for at the moment, so I decided to use the Loves Me papers from the last Mini Catalogue. These turned out well I think.
The next two were done using only Stampin' Up Soft Subtles colour range but incorporating quite a few different techniques. I'm quite happy with these too.

My first ever Stampin' Up workshop as a Demo

Today I conducted my first workshop as a SU Demonstator.
We did two make and takes and I showed the ladies how to use the Stamp a ma jig with the Wild Rose stamp set.
This is the first make and take, a calendar. I used So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Blue Bayou, Always Artichoke and Soft Sky. The Label punch was used for the very first time too. The little flower comes from the set Baroque Motifs, the dots are from Sweet Sampler and the Party Time stamp is from a level one hostess set called Party Punch.
Ribbon is the new stitched in colour ribbon in Soft Sky.
Next we did a little box. The pattern is the French Fry box. Using Old Olive as the main cardstock with River Rock and Groovy Guava as accents I think it came out quite well.
The ribbon is Groovy Guava. The scallop punch was used with Old Olive and Groovy Guava behind the Thank you stamp which is from the set Lovely Labels. ( I adore this set, it stamps so well)
The last thing as I said, was using the stamp a ma jig. With Wild Rose as the stamp set, I did this quick and easy picture to illustrate just how easy it is to use this wonderful gadget. Regal Rose and Rose Red were the colours for the flowers and the leaves are Always Artichoke and Mellow Moss.
I can safely say the 8 participants of the workshop enjoyed themselves and the morning was a huge success. Thanks so much for looking.

Card class today

Today was our once a month class at Ilbilbie with Michelle. As usual, I enjoyed the cards. This time we learnt how to do the Cracked Glass technique and revisited the serviette technique. All of these cards are exactly how Michelle made them. I keep mine for future reference. The Frog and the Rose are the cards using the serviettes and have also been given a 3d look. The frog is saying 'hello', sorry lousey photo.

The other photo is of the two cards using the cracked glass technique which I loved. Very cool and very simple.

Enchante Designer Papers

I wanted to play with my new Enchante papers, French Flair background stamp and Stem Silhouettes stamp set. My trouble is a lot of the time, I can't think where to start with cards. After perusing some blogs, I saw that turning the top corner down to show the other side of the paper was used a lot. Liked that idea. So using a sketch I'd had for ages in my book (think it comes from Bec's page maps??), I started just putting papers, cardstock, stamps and ink together.
Firstly I made With Heartfelt Sympathy. I feel it's turned out really well. I like it anyway. lol

Then by changing the sizes of the different elements I came up with a sketch that's the same but different if you know what I mean.
Happy Birthday was the next one and here I used an idea I saw in the last SU Mini catalogue..stamping the French Flair background straight onto the floral designer paper. Gorgeous. Even though you can't see much, it does add to the background I reckon.

Sending You a Little Something was the last one I made. This one is for my son's Great Grandmother's birthday so wanted the colours to be a bit more muted and soft but still have that touch of choc chip and close to cocoa on the card. Even if I do say so myself, I love all three cards.

Stampin' Up products as below -
Cardstock - Close to cocoa, Certainly celery, Pale plum, Perfect plum, Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Papers - Enchante
Ink - Close to Cocoa, Certainly celery
Ribbon - Choc Chip
Stamps - French Flair background, Stem Silhouettes, Curvy Verses, Happy Everything, Close as a Memory
Brads - some I had in my stash.

Thanks for looking.

Mixed Bag

I'm really not sure about this card, but hey it's done. Cardstock is SU, garden green, creamy caramel, lovely lilac and almost amethyst. I used what colours I thought went best with my serviette pic. Actually the card is growing on me.
Stamps - Scratched grid from CHF, SU script, Flexible everyday phrases, weathered.

I am absolutely happy with this one. Used my colour coach to get this combination - old olive, not quite navy, creamy caramel, lavender lace and so saffron. I picked the original colour from my lavender serviette and then went from there.
Stamps - SU script, curvy verses.
Best of all, I've finished my cardstock filing system. All is up to date until my new goodies arrive(in colour cardstock). Full filing cabinet drawer is the first pic. The other pictures show how I've labeled each colour. I've got them separated into each colour family too. Believe it or not, I really enjoyed setting this up.

.Hope you can see the actual names ok. I cut them out of the old catalogue which was had it anyway. Have since had my good copy of the old catalogue bound with a spiral, and the current one done too. They now open flat when I want them for referral.

This next pic shows the last lot of SU goodies that I received. I'm now waiting on the order with all the stash from the new 2008-2009 catalogue to arrive. This is a RAK I received from another member of Karen's SU team, Judy. She's used Roses in Winter set, which is now retired.

New Catalogue

It's here, at last, the brand new Stampin' Up Australia/New Zealand catalogue. It's fantastic. Wonderful new stamp sets, new ribbons, rubons, gorgeous papers and the new in colours are beautiful.
My order has gone in and now I'm wanting it to arrive. lol
